Macro Coach ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information needed to provide personalized nutrition coaching:

• Health and body data — your goal (lose weight, maintain, or build muscle), weight, and activity level. These are used solely to calculate your daily calorie and protein targets.
• Daily nutrition logs — calories and protein eaten per day, entered manually by you.
• Device identifier — an anonymous device ID used to authenticate your session. It is not linked to your name, email, or any other personal identifier.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used exclusively to:

• Calculate personalized daily calorie and protein targets using standard TDEE formulas
• Generate AI-powered meal suggestions and coaching responses tailored to your current intake
• Provide "Fix My Day" recovery coaching when requested

We do not use your data for advertising, analytics profiling, or any purpose beyond delivering the coaching features described above.

AI Processing

Macro Coach uses OpenAI to generate meal suggestions and coaching responses. Your goal, calorie and protein targets, and daily intake numbers are sent to OpenAI's API to produce these responses. OpenAI processes this data according to their Privacy Policy. We do not send your name, email, or any identifying personal information to OpenAI.

In-App Purchases

Macro Coach offers optional subscription plans processed through Apple App Store and Google Play. Subscription management and billing are handled by Apple or Google directly. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat processes data in accordance with their Privacy Policy.

Data Storage

Your health data and daily logs are stored locally on your device using secure device storage. We do not maintain a user account database. Your data remains on your device and is not backed up to our servers.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties, except as necessary to operate the app (OpenAI for AI processing, Apple/Google for payments, RevenueCat for subscription management) as described above.

Data Retention and Deletion

Since your data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by uninstalling the app. Uninstalling Macro Coach removes all locally stored data from your device.

Children's Privacy

Macro Coach is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
